Wayfarer Cruising Conference Report
Published 16:53 on 28 Mar 2016
The Wayfarer Cruising Conference was held last weekend (19th and 20th March) at Notts County Sailing Club and I pleased to say that a third of BSC Wayfarer owners attended.
The clubhouse was packed full of Wayfarer enthusiasts (both owners, crew and supporters). There was a good cross section of talks, presentations and outdoor events. Even at times when I thought that it might be boring, there was always a nugget of information that filled a gap in my knowledge.
One of the outdoor presentations was on crazed gelcoat repairs, another on sail tuning. Indoors were presentations on cruising various parts of the British coast, passage planning and navigation.
This is just a small sample of what was on offer. One of the most memorable was the 'Pig of Doom' (perhaps Peter can remind me what CLAP and SAFE are).
Of course to some (like me) Pauline's galley was pure heaven. (nearly broke the scales this morning).
Many of the electronic presentations should soon be on the UKWA website for you to see, but they are always better 'in the flesh' so to say.
I hope to see you all on the water soon and in particular on 7th May when we hope to have all 6 Wayfarers launched.
