CLUB FACILITIES


We operate on a self help basis and a lot of the facilities have been built and are maintained by the members.  This means that we have built up over many years an excellent clubhouse and facilities on site to which members have access at all times.

The Clubhouse has:

  • a fully equipped bar, is open every Sunday from March to December, with draught beer and lager available as well as a range of other drinks;
  • a balcony area running along the front of the clubhouse on which members and their guests can watch the racing in comfort while enjoying a drink or a picnic;
  • ample seating, both inside the clubhouse and outside on picnic tables on the balcony and lawns;
  • a barbecue available for those who want to relax by the water on hot summer days;
  • a large kitchen area where you can make a hot drink on a cold day - tea and cake is available at around 3.30 each Sunday in the racing season;
  • heated & carpeted changing rooms with hot showers.

Remember - you can sail at any time (except on days when there are Open Meetings or Working Parties).  Even if you do not want to sail, the club provides an excellent base for an interesting walk around the reservoir to watch the birds and other wildlife.  There are a number of Sites of Scientific Interest around the reservoir.
