| History of Banbury Sailing Club Banbury Sailing Club was formed in 1950 following a meeting held in a pub in Banbury. Since that time has leased the sailing rights at Boddington Reservoir from British Waterways who maintain the reservoir to provide water to the Oxford Canal over the summit stretch between Napton and Banbury.
A History of Banbury Sailing Club was written by John Green (President 1988 - 2002) and published in June 2000 to coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the club. Copies of this history are available from the club at a cost of £5 (which the club donates to the RNLI).
