Junior Section Children as young as 7 can participate in the Junior Club on Saturday mornings from the beginning of May. We operate four groups:
- Beginners - first time sailors learning the basics.
- Improvers - sailors who are improving their skills.
- Racers - more experienced sailors who are preparing for race training.
- Race team -
experienced racers who we expect to represent Banbury Sailing Club at: Open Meetings; training for zone squads; team racing; and national schools competitions.
Parental assistance is required on all Saturdays. Prospective new members are advised that there is a waiting list for children wishing to participate in Junior Club.
Club Boats The Club owns ten Toppers, three Optimists, two 405s, two Mirrors and six Laser Funs.
In 2005 we received funding from Sport England towards the purchase of race boats for Junior Sailors. We would like to thank our Sponsors (see on
left) for their financial support - follow this link to an article in The Banbury Guardian.
