Merlin Rocket Open Meeting
Sunday 15th April 2012
at Banbury Sailing Club
Always a popular and well supported early season event, this year the first of the three races (two to count) for the Banbury Cross Trophy (follow link for previous winners) will start at 11.00 am and results will count for
both the Silver Tiller and the Midland Circuit. We will probably aim to do two races back to back before lunch depending on the weather and how the fleet captain feels.
An annual event since 1952, you will find challenging courses, interesting winds, lots of good sailing, good food, an excellent bar and a warm welcome from the BSC Merlin Rocket Fleet.
Aim to arrive no later than 10.15am to allow time to register, rig and find your way around the water (bring your pencil for the course to note down the EIGHT buoys!).
Prizes for first three places plus as an encouragement to the club sailor, a prize for the best placed Prime of Life boat (more than 10 years old and less than 20) and for first Mature
boat (more than 20 years old).
Entry fee: £22 per boat including lunch, tea, coffee and cake for both helm &
crew.
