Offshore Group

The Offshore Group (BOG) organises charter trips to give members an opportunity to experience sailing something bigger than a 14ft dinghy.

Past trips include:

• a sail to Brittany on a 60ft yacht
• participation in the round the island race - Isle of Wight
• long weekend charters out of Falmouth, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Lymington
• a week Tall Ship Sailing
• a weekend on a crewed Thames barge
• a weekend on the Norfolk Broads in traditional sail boats
• sailing around the Western Isles of Scotland

Members with a wide variety of experience go on these trips and novices are welcome.

Each yacht is crewed by a competent skipper and mate (all from our club). Sailing experience is not required and newcomers to cruising are welcome, you can participate as much as you choose from helming through to learning navigation and calculating secondary port tidal heights to just relaxing on board. Non Sailors and Partners are welcome.
