    Banbury Sailing Club Open Day - Sunday 12th May

    On the 12th May we welcome prospective new members to come to the club, go for a sail, meet club members and generally find out what the Club is all about. No need to book, just turn up any time between 2pm and 4pm on the 12th May. Whether your're new to sailing, or are more experienced, there's something for all at Banbury Sailing Club.

  • RYA Club Satisfaction Survey

    Banbury Sailing Club is participating in the Annual RYA Club Member Satisfaction Survey this year.  This is a survey covering members of all RYA affiliated clubs and will give the RYA a good view on where the sport we love is flourishing and where the sport needs more support. As a club, we would like to understand our memberships needs better and the RYA survey will also tell us (in anonymised, aggregated form)

    Royal Honour as Banbury Sailing Club Pair Collect National Volunteer Awards

    Two Banbury Sailing Club sailors were amongst 57 people from across the UK honoured for their commitment to supporting grassroots sailing by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, President of the Royal Yachting Association, at the RYA’s prestigious Volunteer Awards on Friday 16 November. Graeme Castle received an RYA Lifetime Commitment Award, for individuals who have shown exceptional commitment and dedication to their club or organisation for at least 15 years, at the awards

    Wayfarer International Rally 2018

    Peter and Liz Bones wrote the following report from their trip to the Wayfarer International Rally on the Norfolk Broads this year. Not long after upgrading my GP to a Wayfarer some 5 years ago, I became aware of the benefits of being a member of the UK Wayfarer Association. I found the Association to be enthusiastic, well organised, helpful, and above all, it had a membership who were and still are, very friendly.

  • A Tribute to Tim Foden

    We were very sorry to hear the sad news that Tim had passed away but we are delighted to be able to share "A Celebration of Tim’s Sailing Life". Tim bought his first GP14 sailing dinghy in the early 1970’s and sailed at Draycote in a fleet of about 70 GP’s. Tim’s commitment to major projects was shown when he built his own wooden GP from a kit from Bell’s of Leicester.

    Bill Mansfield Trophy

    On Sunday 24th June, the Bill Mansfield Trophy was contested and was won by Tim Bury and Pat Kuenzler in their Merlin. On the day, £50 was donated to Sailability, a charity that supports sailors with disabilities. Banbury Sailing Club is pleased to be able to match this amount so we will send a cheque for £100 to this excellent organisation.
