News

Round the Island: Atanea, skippered by Rear Commodore Mike Eves finished the annual 'race' round the Isle of Wight in 617th place overall, out of 1799 starters and 1566 finishers. And without incident!!
Tim Matthews (GP fleet captain) in Jump finished 291st overall, 20th in his fleet of 55.

Sea Cadets Success: On June 7th the boys won the District Pulling at Farmoor, and now go to Portsmouth on July 5th to compete against the best in Southern Area.

Poachers: Club boats appear to have been 'borrowed' overnight for illegal fishing, and not returned to the boat park, but left to drift. Do ensure that you leave nothing useful in your dinghies, and remove the bungs to discourage their unauthorised use.

Fish refuges: BWB have installed a 'fish refuge' in the North West corner of the reservoir. Details.

BWB reorganisation: British Waterways Board has announced the results of a major strategic review. One of its recommendations is to create closer links with local communities (that's us!). The review is available here.
