Commodore's Weekend

What a fabulous weekend was had by the many members who joined us for the Commodore’s Weekend in June.  The sun shone,  the wind blew – well certainly at times – and young and old enjoyed the various activities over the three days.

We ran Friday Coaching and a BBQ to kick the weekend off followed by a Bring and Share lunch on the Saturday with afternoon team events including Topper Limbo, Kayak Challenge, Bang and Go Back Race, Shore Challenge and Climb the Mast.  There was an open air dinner in the evening with a live acoustic guitar performance by Gordon Mackay followed by an optional (and magical) night sail.  The pop up cocktail tent was a popular addition to the evening – and those camping fell asleep to the sounds of the leaves rustling in the trees and the musical sound of whistling shrouds.

Sunday racing followed Bacon Rolls and the Youth Section had a fun morning involving lots of paddling, floating scrabble and Oppie and Topper fun.

All in all, it was a brilliant weekend – we can’t believe we have to wait a year for the next one!

Friday Social BBQ

The Social Committee run a bbq following the Friday Evening Coaching on the third Friday of every month.

Join Us

We are always pleased to welcome new members to Banbury Sailing Club any time of the year, no matter your sailing experience or inexperience. Memberships run annually from 1st April to 31st March.

We offer learn to sail courses, racing at all levels and cruising. You can also SUP (stand up paddleboard), Canoe, Kayak or Row. So if you are looking to have some quality time on the water look no further.

There is also an additional charge of £30 for the access key for new members which will be issued on your first visit to the club.
