    Southport 24 Hour Race 2024

    In September , Banbury ventured back to the revived Southport 24 Hour Dinghy Race. The club took part in the 2019 edition before COVID put the event on pause.  This endurance race has been running annually since 1967 and  this year, in order to ensure that we could all enjoy this unique event once more West Lancashire Yacht Club requested assistance from competitors to help with duties across the weekend.     Commodore's Weekend

    What a fabulous weekend was had by the many members who joined us for the Commodore's Weekend in June.  The sun shone,  the wind blew - well certainly at times - and young and old enjoyed the various activities over the three days.     First Friday Social BBQ of the Year

    Every Friday evening, we hold an informal coaching and sailing session at the Club.  It's open to all members, ages and abilities.  On the third Friday of the month we run a bbq alongside - and we hosted our first one of the season on Friday 17th May.     NSSA DH Team Racing

    Banbury Sailing Club is delighted to be hosting the National Schools Sailing Association Double handed team racing on the 9th and 10th of March 2024! Welcoming 24 teams from all over the country, BSC anticipates tight racing over two days of intense two boat team racing in Fireflys and Feva's. The main event will be hosted in Fireflys with a support, regatta fleet of Feva's for those less experienced to give team racing a go.

    Youth Sailing at BSC

    We run a thriving, friendly and fun Youth section.  Children as young as 7 can participate in the Youth training sessions, which are very well attended and run on Sundays this year, between May and October. We operate four groups at our training sessions: - Beginners  - first time sailors learning the basics. - Improvers  - sailors who are improving their skills.
