These courses are for people who are new to sailing and wish to gain their RYA Level 1 (Start Sailing) or RYA Level 2 (Basic Skills) qualifications. The Level 1 and 2 courses run in parallel to enable you to book on to the course which suits you. The Level 1 course will take people with no previous sailing experience and provide an understanding of boat handling and basic knowledge. The Level 2 course is suitable for people who have gained Level 1 or have sailed before. On completion the successful sailor will be safety conscious, have a basic knowledge of sailing, and will be capable of sailing without an instructor on board in light winds.
