Procedure for cleaning of the launching winch
Members are now able to use the winch to launch their boat. Below is the procedure for using the winch.
NOTE: It is the responsibility of all members to ensure equipment and touch points are cleaned both before and after use and that they bring along to the club their own hand sanitiser to use before and after touching anything for the first or last time. Users should assume all equipment is contaminated.
An adult must be responsible for supervising any cleaning.
- Access the Chunky Dory container key from the Fuel store to get the winch rope - your gate key will open the fuel store. The winch rope will be left in the container in a bucket of soapy water in the container.
- The key to the race box (to turn the winch power on) will be on the keyring with the container key.
- Move your boat to the winch area and launch your boat.
- After each use of the winch, please ensure that the winch touch points are cleaned with sanitising spray (kept in the container) and the emergency stop button is set to off.
- Before you go sailing, return the winch rope to the bucket of soapy water and lock the container and duty box up - this is for your and other members protection.
Finally you can go sailing and when you return, follow the winch use procedure above to recover your boat
