BSC launches Club eSailing - sailboat racing from home!

With the Club and the country in lockdown, now is the perfect time to try eSailing with Virtual Regatta.  

The RYA is promoting eSailing and as a club we are now set up to run our own BSC eSailing races through "Virtual Regatta"

Virtual Regatta is free to use, works on PCs, tablets and smartphones, and has a built in 'Sailing School' to get you started.  Simply visit the Virtual Regatta website here to load or download Virtual Regatta Inshore on your smartphone or tablet.

As a club, we have plans to run the following events, but we may run more if there is demand:

BSC eSailing Lockdown Series - racing on one evening each week with results counting towards an overall series.

BSC RYA eSailing Spring Championship - a regatta style event with the overall winner selected to represent the Club at an RYA Regional Final and, if successful in that, the Club National Final!

If you are interested in joining the fun, please set up your Virtual Regatta account and then complete the BSC eSailing Registration Form here: https://forms.gle/mkVzM8B2AMzzhBYt8   For registration, you will need your 'Pseudo' which is your Virtual Regatta nickname.  

The registration form will help us with running and scoring the racing, and will hopefully allow us to plan race times to suit everyone - you will need to complete the form to take part.  Our intention is to use WhatsApp to coordinate the racing, but if you don't have WhatsApp , please let us know and we can arrange an alternative.

We look forward to seeing you on the virtual water.  Sailing without getting wet... this might just catch on!
