BSC Road Map
Published 00:00 on 5 Apr 2021
Following the Government's Road Map announcement on 22nd February, the Covid Sub Committee has had several discussions and are hopeful that we will be able to get back out on the water by the end of March. Assuming the Road Map keeps to its current timings, the Club re-opening should look like this:-
As from 29th March, members can:-
- come to the Club and sail their own boat.
- sail in a Club boat (pre-book by emailing email@example.com)
- attend a coached session. The first one will be a Get Back on the Water session on Good Friday 2nd April from 1.30pm to 4.30pm - this must be pre-booked through the website
- join Sunday Racing which is restarting on Easter Sunday 4th April
The Club will open up more and more activities as soon as we are able including Youth Training and Adult Training Courses. Please keep checking the website and calendar where you will see that we have already scheduled regular Friday morning ladies sailing sessions, Friday evening and Saturday Get Back on the Water coaching sessions (or just come along and sail and know that there will be safety boat cover) as well as a full racing calendar. We would like to organise a Club social event as well but this will not be possible until after 21st June in the current Road Map.
The Club is also guided by our governing body - the RYA. Their latest quidance regarding Return to Boating can be found here.
Duties are now open so if you want to get in early to have your pick of dates, now is a great time to do so!
The Committee hopes to help get as many people, of as many different sailing levels and interests, out on the water as soon as they can. Please do let us know if there is anything more you feel that we can do to help with this and we hope to see you at the Club in the very near future. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you again for all your support over the last year; it was lovely to see so many of you and have so much positive feedback at the AGM.
